Learning Factors

Intensity

Intensity must be used sparingly. If used too often, it loses its effect. It should not be too intense or it may frighten a student.

In a briefing room, it may be as simple as using a red marker to emphasize something important or to put eyes in the 2 Os in LOOK.

Effect

Try to always leave the student wanting to come back for more training. The last exercise they practice should go well. If it does not, have them review something they have mastered recently.

The debriefing must provide them with ways they can improve but should emphasize the positives. If it was a really bad day for the student, empathize with them and let them know that we all have bad days and things will get better.

Recency

The last things learned are the longest remembered. Review the most important aspects of your PPGI at the end. As with Recency, make the last exercise the best they can do.
